Bezalel

School of International Dance and Pageantry

Bezalel is a Christian home school organization made up of families of various denominations, whose vision is to teach the beauty of dance and pageantry as a language for education and communication among people groups. The school will teach, through workmanship, integrity, modesty and disciplined training, the skills needed for presentation, dance instruction, garmenting, stage design, musical instruments, voice, drama, lighting, etc. We will also teach various art classes, such as oil painting, silk artistry, ceramics, and photography, so that students can create unique expressions for God's glory. Finally, we will teach languages and cultures of the nations, to give students a broader view of God's kingdom and what He is doing among the nations.

Upon completion of a study unit, students may choose to travel to these nations to present what they have learned while meeting the people of the land and building relationships through the language of visual arts.

We offer weekly classes in dance, drama and theatre arts, voice, creative worship, silk dyeing, oil painting, ceramics, instruments, photography, culture, languages, purity and martial arts. We hope to offer other classes in the future, such as lighting, audio/video and garmenting. These classes are open to parents and other adults as well as homeschool students of all ages.

REGISTRATION FOR SPRING, 2010

Interested in taking a class? You are welcome to come visit any class to see what it is like. OUR CLASSES ARE EVERY TUESDAY from 9:30 am - 5:00 pm. THE LAST CLASS FOR SPRING, 2010 WILL BE MAY (tba). We may not be able to offer every class on the schedule unless the minimum number of students is met for that class. If you pre-register online and pay a $50 deposit by January 1, 2010, you can save $30 per class (exceptions: violin and photography, which are not discounted or included in the family maximum of $500/family/semester). Physical registration will be at Berea Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 26, 2010. Whether you are a returning student or new, please stop by the registration table and sign up for classes.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY ALL CLASS FEES ON THE FIRST DAY OF CLASSES. Payments can be made each week or each month, but materials fees should be paid the first day of classes.

EXTRA SPECIAL DEAL: If you preregister with a $50 deposit by Nov. 17th, you qualify for the family maximum of $500/semester for ALL class fees. (exception: violin and photography) That means every class over the maximum is FREE!

The school is hosted by Berea Baptist Church on Inskip Road (just off Merchants Road). Map location

In lieu of a registration fee, each student will be asked to contribute $1 each week to cover the cost of utilities and building maintenance. There will be an offering box at the table downstairs (honor system). This is an excellent training tool for parents to teach their children the biblical principles of stewardship.

We feel blessed to be so warmly welcomed into the facilities of Berea Baptist Church and FCA (Family Christian Academy). We wish to be a blessing to them and their ministries. We ask, therefore, that all Bezalel students respect and abide by the DRESS CODE of FCA and the high standards of behavior and attitudes that should represent all Christians who desire to live according to biblical principles.

MISSION / EDUCATIONAL TRIPS: Our year normally culminates in a ministry trip to a foreign country. In May 2005, we made a 16-day trip to England (Lancashire, Liverpool, Bristol & London), Scotland, Wales & Ireland. In October, 2006, we traveled to Israel for the Feast of Tabernacles.

In 2007-09 we are studying in preparation for a trip to South America - probably in the Andes and Amazon regions of Peru.

We are praying that God would provide a grant or generous donors to allow more students to travel with us and experience other cultures firsthand. If you would be interested in sponsoring a student, please contact us. All contributions are tax-deductible.
